Health House Studio Review

Health House Studio Review

Health House is a gorgeous fitness studio located in West Hollywood. The workout combines rowing on a stationary machine and weight lifting for 45 minutes. In my class, we alternated each component twice, focusing on full body training. I started the class on the rowing machine, but you can start at either station. Each workout targets the upper body, lower body or full body - listed on the class schedule.

I have been so excited to try Health House since it opened in West Hollywood a few months ago. The studio is amazing. Located on the second floor right off Melrose Avenue, Health House is bright and beautiful with tons of amenities. The class itself is intense, but the dance party music, energetic and inclusive instructors, and diverse moves kept me motivated. Jason Wimberly led my class and he was a true rock star. His energy kept the room of 30 focused and engaged throughout the 45 minute workout.

To be noted, the clientele of Health House is as intimating as I expected. Before my first class, I saw influencers like Katie Austin, Lindsey Harrod and Aubry Winters post about their workouts at the boutique studio. The other participants were fit and knew what they were doing. However, everyone was humbled by the workout, leveling the playing field.

Specific Studio & Class Details

Class Type: Rip & Row with a Full Body focus. This format combined both rowing and weight lifting. The Ripped class just focuses on strength and mat exercises.

Location: Melrose just off La Cienega. The entrance is on the north side of Knoll Drive.

Parking: Their website lists 624 North La Cienega Blvd and 8495 Melrose Avenue as validated lots.

Equipment: Rowing machine, mixed weights, and a bench. The instructor demonstrates how to use everything!

Sweat Level: 10/10 - This heart pumping workout will definitely make you sweat! Plan a shower and hair wash after. The locker rooms are large, well lit, and have showers, so it would be super easy to get ready after class.

Challenge Level: 10/10 - While every class is what you make it, this was a challenging workout. I am so sore!

Extras: I booked on ClassPass for 7 credits, but I’ve seen the class listed for up to 14. All you need are sneakers, workout clothes, and water (towels provided). The studio has a smoothie bar and a lounge area in the lobby.

Verdict: I will definitely be going back! While this type of workout is not my go to (I’m more of a barre fan πŸ’β€β™€οΈ), I’ve been working on increasing my cardio and this is one of my new favorites. The stunning studio alone is worth a visit!
